Happy March, people!
Here are the top five things I’m loving or looking forward to this month.
In my limited time on this earth, I’ve come to find people have very different ideas of when a season begins. The literal types declare that it’s not spring until the Spring Equinox on March 20. Others rely on the weather – when things begin to melt and warm up. (As a Minnesotan, this would make the season much too short and far away.) I, on the other hand, a true lover of the calendar and consistency, declare spring the three months of March, April, and May and therefore spring began last Thursday.
To celebrate, I’ve been surrounding myself with spring slogans
“The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.” – Harriet Ann Jacobs
“In winter, I plot and plan. In spring, I move.” – Henry Rollins
and spring celebrations.
2. NEW LOOK
Maybe it’s the winter blah talking, but I think I’m ready to change up my look. I haven’t colored my hair in over five years and have kept relatively the same haircut for who knows how long.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
I know, I know. This is practically the same cut I always get…I just like it, so why change it?
But I don’t know if I’m ready to say goodbye to my side swept bangs just yet. So I might try longer bangs with a deeper part like this picture.
But I want to change it up with color! I’m thinking balayage. I know, I know…that’s so three years ago…but I don’t really like any of the current color trends and want to do something new, so why not?
Which do you like best? I’m still not sure how dark or light to go. I think I like this first one best 🙂
I also want to try a curling wand on for size.
3. SPRING CLEANING
Now that I have a house, I have to get used to keeping it clean! There’s no time like spring to get rid of junk and spiff things up. In addition to purging, I want to try some of these Pinterest Hacks for the kitchen:
4. BREW NIGHTS
Due to my organization’s gala silent auction, I had the opportunity to visit many breweries picking up growlers and taproom tour donations and realized there are some AMAZING breweries in the Twin Cities that I haven’t visited yet! I want to check a few off my list this month. Here’s my list:
- 56 Brewing
- 612 Brew
- Able Seedhouse + Brewery
- Bad Weather Brewing Company
- Bent Brewstillery
- Dangerous Man Brewing
- Lake Monster Brewing
- Sisyphus Brewing
5. SHAMROCK SHAKES
March means it’s time for Shamrock Shakes! Yummy.
