“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” – Colin Powell
As I mentioned in my last post, I have a big work event I’m planning for. Thankfully, it’s happening this Friday, so I just have to sprint through this week and then I’ll have a bit more time to pull things together before our next one.
I’ve also received a new title, so to celebrate I want to update my resume and LinkedIn sometime this month.
Find a House.
You guys. I REALLY want to find a house this month. Really, really. But, I’m going to trust God with it 🙂
Listen at Small Group.
During a friend’s bachelorette party this past month, a few of the girls from my small group got to talking about some new things we can try at small group to better build community. They had some great ideas! This month and this summer, I want to be intentional about asking people in the group their ideas and integrating them into what we do, both me personally as a member and leader, and the group structure as a whole. We’re doing a study on the Whys and Hows of Small Group at our church, so it’s a great segue to the conversation.
“What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade.” – Gertrude Jekyll
Wedding season is in full swing! We have two weddings this month- one a casual, barn wedding and one an elegant gathering at a beautiful old mansion. I’m super stoked for both and can’t wait to celebrate my friends on their big day.
Since it’s so brief (but so beautiful), summer in Minnesota means it’s time for outdoor festivals and parties every weekend! Here are a few of the festivals I want to get to this month:
- Twins Game with the Fam for Father’s Day
- Ride the Harriet Streetcars and have a picnic at Music and Movie in the Park
- Go home to the farm for a bonfire
3. Lake Time
4. Summer Foods
I’m also excited to do more grilling and try some summer entrees. Here are a few recipes I’ll be trying out for get-togethers in the next few weeks:
